PASE Presents: Super Smash Bros. Brawl Tournament

    Entry Fee: $5 advanced registration / $8 at the door
Registration
  • You may register at the tournament before it starts or you can register in advance.
  • Save money! Advanced registration will be taken with PASE board members at the MU tables [between the CoHo and the Quad]. PASE will be tabling Monday, April 21st until Thursday, April 24th from 11AM-2PM each day.
  • Registration forms can be downloaded here: VGT Registration Form, and submitted at the PASE table or emailed as an attachment to PASE.vgt@gmail.com. However, you are officially registered when the registration fee has been paid.
  • A valid UC Davis ID is required for registration.
Prizes
    1st Place: Guitar Hero 3 (Wii Version) with gift receipt.
    2nd Place: iPod Shuffle (Silver)
Details
  • Please, BRING YOUR OWN CONTROLLER. If you do not bring a controller, you will be responsible for borrowing one from another participant. Any standard controller [Wii or GameCube] can be used. Programmable/macro controllers/sticks and controllers with turbo/auto functions are not allowed.
  • Tournament brackets will be generated using tio tournament organizer.

Tournament Format

These rules are a modified version of the set of rules created for Melee by the Smash Back Room (SBR), which can be found here: http://smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=137382

General Rules
  • Double Elimination.
  • Items are set to off.
  • The stock is set to 3.
  • The time limit is set to 8 minutes.
  • All sets are best of 3 matches. Finals are best of 5.
  • In the event of a dispute, controller ports will be selected by Rock-Paper-Scissors.
  • No player may choose the stage they last won on.
  • Ties will be broken by lives, then percentage.
    In the event of a percentage tie, one stock sudden death will be played.
  • No glitches can be used.
Set Format
  1. Opponents choose their characters for the first match; double-blind selection can be called by either player upon request.
  2. Each player may announce one stage to be banned for the entirety of the set.
  3. The first stage will be played at random from the Random Stage List.
  4. The loser of the previous match announces the next match's stage from either the Random Stage List or the Counter Stage List.
  5. The winner of the previous match chooses their character.
  6. The loser of the previous match chooses their character.
  7. Repeat steps 4-6 if a third match must be played.
