A Brief Word from our Presidents

It’s now the year 2000, and the reign of P2K has arrived! Yes, winter quarter may bring rain to the land of Davis, but Pilipino Americans in Science and Engineering shall prevail. After toying around with a new meeting schedule last quarter, PASE decided to bring back tradition with PASE meetings every two weeks. This quarter brings the ever famous Interviewing Workshop (held last month) and Alumni Nite to our meeting schedule.
But that’s not all.
Instead of having a meeting on-campus for our second round of nominations, PASE will celebrate the occasion at a Pizza Nite on Wednesday, March 1. So eat up some goods, while hanging out with the most fun, lovin’ group of people you can find. Portions of the pizza sales will go to our spring banquet and next year’s engineering conference.
Next, after the hiatus of the Golden Games Volleyball last quarter, Golden Games Basketball has been set. So PASErs, current students and alumni, mark your calendars - Saturday, March 4, 2000. If you don’t want to play, then come out and cheer your fellow PASErs, the defenders of the Golden Basketball, as we stomp out the competition.
Then, before finals, PASE may be holding a relaxation event - a possible bowling night at the MU? We shall see...
And lastly, one of the biggest events PASE shall be putting on this year - a field trip to NASA Ames Research Center in Moffett Field, CA. The trip will be Thursday, March 30, the day before spring classes begin. Not only will we be getting the general tour, but also a more detailed look at the work done at NASA. Space Stations, Applied Engineering, Supercomputers, Wind Tunnels, Flight Sims - all part of the tour. And hopefully, a few recruiters at lunch? Afterwards, maybe a trip to the City? After all, what else will you be doing the day before classes start?
Hold on, that’s not all! We haven’t even gotten to spring quarter yet...P2K’s gonna bring you an action-packed quarter, filled with events such as Industry Panel, Etiquette, Photoshop workshops. Elections and banquet!
Ladies and gentlemen, you pay for the whole seat, but you’ll only need the edge, ‘cuz P2K promises to take you on a ride you won’t soon forget!!!
